Who We Are
AlienSkin
Magazine®
was created by a group of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and
Horror writers who are familiar with the publishing market, and
who want to help fellow writers gain publication for stories
that might have been overlooked by other editors, or that
might've fallen through the cracks of this highly competitive
market.
Our
magazine endeavors to offer a mix of free, online SFFH stories,
articles on genre writing, contests, and writing FAQs designed to help those interested in these genres.
Our staff consists of published writers, readers, and avid
fans of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror. Each of us knows
how voracious writers are at seeking information about the craft of
writing, and how writers seek innovative ways to help keep their creative juices flowing.
We also know how difficult it is for fledgling writers to get markets to publish, their work.
AlienSkin
also endeavors to provide new and
avid genre writers with informative articles, technique-oriented FAQs, and
writing related resource links, which may help them better understand and
develop the skills they need to produce marketable articles and fiction.
Our contests are
designed to reward writers for their creativity and skill,
and to encourage them to keep writing, thus, allow SFFH fans to keep reading. Money collected in
contest entry fees goes into the
prize pool and any profit overages go to buffer a contest that does not draw enough
entries to cover the prize award.
Froggy Bottom Press
This is our medium for publishing our online magazine.
Froggy Bottom Press was founded in May 2002. These are
the guys and gals who stepped forward with the financing and
who became dedicated to presenting our magazine material in
a nifty, spiffy way to our online readers. We hope you
enjoy their layout design and graphic endeavors. If
you do, drop us an email or send us some feedback, and we'll
pass your comments along to them.

information collected from contributing authors by

is kept private between
AlienSkin
and the writers who help support the magazine by
allowing AlienSkin to use their work. Email addresses collected from
subscribers is only used to gain a subscriber count base and such
addresses are used for special announcements about
AlienSkin
or about one of its issues. Subscriber email addresses and
contributing author addresses will not be sold, or used for any other
purpose than what we have described within this policy and within our
Subscription and Submissions pages.
Personal information collected by
AlienSkin
from contest winners will be used for the purpose of issuing payment to
contestants for the use of their submitted material, to process contest
entry fees, and to issue prize payment to contest winners.
Copyright Policy
AlienSkin
Magazine®
buys First Electronic/Web Rights from freelance writers/contributors and
from contest winners for a period of 1 month from publication. AlienSkin also retains the right to list
the first paragraph of articles and fiction in its Shed Skins archive for
a period of 1 month after initial publication of the piece. Author
byline will accompany all articles and fiction; and author contact
information will not be listed with each archived piece. Authors of contest entries that do not win retain copyright of their original
work (See our
